As we’ve alluded to in recent posts there is currently something of a major DIY project under way in our home. Namely, to transform the beautiful images you see above into something appealing as part of our bathroom renovation. Although, not sure it could get much worse! Seriously, who wants a red and yellow bathroom with a pink suite?!
When we brought our home this was the state of decor in the hallway, downstairs bathroom and living room. Thankfully we’ve removed it from all the other rooms (although I suspect the wallpaper was super glued on in some places) but we have been neglecting/ignoring our downstairs bathroom. Simon continually kept his eyes peeled for a thrift friendly bathroom suite and a month ago we found a corner sink, which is when we decided enough was enough, and the fun part – the demolition – began!
We thought it looked a lot better with everything stripped out – even without any usable facilities!
We always knew this room would need redoing and I had been doing a fair amount of pinning before hand, trying to get some ideas for inspiration. After several hours on Pinterest, I finally found my inspiration – we already have Grey in the hall and it seemed perfect to link the bathroom in with that.
We’re still only half way through the renovation, but the floor is laid, one wall re-tiled and the others painted. The next stage is to repaint the woodwork and yellow radiator before Simon plumbs in another suite and we get to go shopping for accessories! Would you add some colour into the room or stick with the grey and white combo we have going on?
**Please ignore the masking tape – it will not be a permanent fixture of the new bathoom!**
