This post is always my favourite of the year. People that know me in real life know I have a complete obsession with Christmas, so I love being about to decorate our home. Read on for our Christmas Home Tour 2017!
As last year we have our Christmas tree in our conservatory, as there just isn’t enough room in our living room unfortunately. I do love the sparkle it adds to this which is magnified by all the glass in this room.
New for this year are a couple of decorations, and a beautiful metal star (yes another!) that you can see hanging by the window. It seems I have an obsession with stars, as this is the 9th in our house!
I also purchased the big grey basket under the tree this year. I thought it was a good way to keep all the gifts organised, and I intend to use it all year round for blankets and cushions. You can’t see how big it is in this picture – but it’s MASSIVE! Have to love a Homesense find.
Just before Christmas I was actually contacted by Amara, who very kindly gifted me with some decorations for the festive period. Pretty much a dream collaboration for me! Funny how these things work out, as I actually needed some more decorations as I managed to drop a bauble when we put the tree up – they make such a mess! Amara were kind enough to send me a few bits and bobs, including the glitter and pearl bauble in the first photo, and the long glass bauble in the second. Aren’t they stunning? You can see their whole collection here.
Moving away from the tree we’ve also added a few festive touches into the dining room. We’re having Christmas dinner at my mum and dads this year, so I’ve gone fairly simple with the table – I do love fresh flowers at this time of year.
On our shutters I’ve hung some little bell decorations and the light up trees look really pretty on the window sill when turned on.
And finally there are a few festive touches in the living room. I love these light up presents from Ikea, and couldn’t resist purchasing a tiny real tree as well. We had a bigger tree in here last year, but with the new furniture we couldn’t squeeze one in this year. My resolution for next year is to display the Christmas cards in a different way, we always display them on the shelves but it doesn’t feel very creative!
We’re not just festive inside, oh no, we’ve also decorated the outside of our house with ample fairy lights. We have lights around the fence, light up stars in the windows and icicles from the gutter. I haven’t been organised enough to take photos – plus I’m slightly concerned that the neighbours will think I’ve either lost it or we’re putting the house on the market – perhaps next year!
