We’ve been in our new home for 2 weeks now and it’s completely different from anything either of us have ever lived in before. We think the house was built around 1900, and it’s a two bedroomed house spread over 3 floors. There are some really great features – a wooden fireplace (with room for a log burner), huge windows, high ceilings and vaulted ceilings in the master bedroom and bath. The house also needs a little more work than we originally released – but hey, that’s not too daunting for a couple addicted to DIY (so not what I said on the day we moved in!).
So far our living room is half painted, and there’s still about 10 boxes left to unpack (hence no photos yet). We’re also 90% of the way through a furniture project – yes, we have odd priorities – but it’s starting to feel like home. I think it’s going to take about 2 years to get it to a place we’re both really happy with.
Let’s hope so anyway, as this is the 6th place we’ve lived in, in the last 6 years, but this one feels like a keeper!
