In England we don’t have Thanksgiving and with no distractions between now and Christmas things are starting to feel decidedly festive! There’s only 1 month between now and Christmas day, and to start off the festive countdown we wanted to share one of our easiest DIY’s to date.
This year we’ll be having our parents round for Christmas day and I’m really looking forward to making the house feel super festive.
Feeling inspired by some glass toppers I saw on Not on the High Street I decided to attempt to make some myself. Luckily we had lots of leftover card from our wedding invites earlier in the year which means that the best thing about this project is the fact it’s completely free!
I began by finding an image online I could use, (I sourced mine from Freepik, but I’m sure if you’re at all creative you could knock something up yourself) and printing off 2 sheets. I grabbed some double sided sticky tape, scissors and card and got started.
I began by cutting the hats out and placing them onto the card before fixing in place with double sided sticky tape.
I then cut around the hats and secured any loose edges. Once everything seemed fairly secure I made two small cuts along the bottom to allow them to perch on the edge of the glasses.
How easy is that? Since I made these I added another step and laminated them so that they’d be splash proof. This really isn’t an essential step though if you don’t have easy access to a laminator.
